Honorary Life Members
Although we have experienced ups and downs over the 84 years, the foundations have been built and maintained through the dedication of men interested in furthering the cause of rugby in the ACT, and in particular the fortunes of Easts.
There are countless numbers who played their part in contributing to the Club’s growth. A few who are representative of many have been singled out over the years for their exceptional service and rewarded with honorary life membership for those efforts. They are:
C J (Gus) VALLANCE (1969)
— Outstanding efforts in the development of Easts Juniors and coach of various junior teams from 1958 to 1984.
— ACT Under-14s coach and selector and manager of ACT Junior representative teams for over 25 years.
— Senior club president and selector in the late 1960s.
— Active and effective link between the junior and senior club.
Ian D WELLS (1975)
— Former player and secretary/committee member in the mid 1960s.
— Tireless worker in fund-raising, catering and support activities for both the Rugby Club and the Club Inc.
— Committee member of the Club Inc during the important development and early trading years and president in the late 1970s.
Neil S CAMPBELL (1980)
— Long involvement with development of Juniors 1 n the 1960s as coach and administrator.
— Committee member of both Rugby Club and Club Inc over three decades.
— Tireless worker in building, maintenance and renovation aspects of the Club Inc.
— Long serving St John Ambulance attendant to senior grades.
